Owen Sound Fire Fighters responded to a fire on the city's east side on Friday night.
The Owen Sound Fire Department are still investigating but believe the cause to have been electric issues.
They say that the fire was contained to the kitchen, the costs of damages has not yet been released.
According to the Fire Department, they responded to the call around 8.p.m with on-shift firefighters before raising a second alarm and calling in additional hands.
One 93-year-old resident of the home was taken to hospital as a precaution, firefighters also rescued two cats and two dogs from the home safely.
The Fire Department says that there was a large amount of smoke throughout the home but no damages outside of the kitchen.
