Town of the Blue Mountains has filled the empty Deputy Mayor position.
At a meeting on Tuesday, council approved the appointment of current Councillor Rob Potter to serve as Deputy Mayor for the rest of this term, to 2022.
A special council meeting will be held on Thursday (January 30) at 8:45 a.m. for the official swearing-in of Councillor Potter as Deputy Mayor.
Since the appointment leaves a council seat vacant, staff will be putting together a report for council regarding options to fill that seat.
Former Deputy Mayor Odette Bartnicki was elected to a first term in the role in the 2018 municipal election and resigned on January 6th.
