The SIU is looking over an incident that took place between South Bruce OPP and a 21 year old Kincardine man Monday night (Jan 6 2020).
Just after 8:05pm police say they received a report of an intoxicated person causing property damage and disturbance in the town of Ripley.
They say witnesses detained the individual until officers arrived and took custody.
The accused was later transported to hospital for medical assessment for a reported injury. The OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate.
The man has been charged with Causing a Disturbance, Utter Threats (two counts), Resist Peace Officer, Assault Police (two counts), Breach Probation (four counts), and with Breach of Recognizance.
