It is the first major social event of the year in Brockton and Mayor Chris Peabody wants to make sure no one misses it.
The public is invited to come out to the Walkerton Legion from 1 pm till 3 pm on New Years Day for fellowship and good cheer.
It is all part of the annual New Years Levee which is hosted by Brockton and the Royal Canadian Legion.
Peabody encourages residents to come out and toast the new year in together as a community.
He says today is all about best wishes and good cheer.
The New Years Levee also provides residents with an opportunity to mix and mingle with Councillors in a relaxed informal setting.
Peabody says 2019 was filled with progress and accomplishments for Brockton and he is confident 2020 will be as well.
Peabody warmly invites residents to come out to the New Years Levee this afternoon and help Brockton toast in the new year together as a community.
