Meaford OPP has confirmed that a pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a transport truck along Highway 26 at Bill's Valu-Mart.
In a press release police say that the pedestrian was taken to hospital where they died of their injuries.
Eyewitnesses at the scene say that the pedestrian was an older woman.
They say that the transport truck also left the scene however police could not confirm anything at this time.
Police are withholding the name of the deceased until next of kin is notified.
Police were still on scene at 4pm conducting an investigation.
