The Inglis Falls Road reconstruction will soon be moving forward.
Recently the Township of Georgian Bluffs awarded a tender contract to Moorefield Excavation Ltd. at an estimated project cost of $4,434,973.40 most of which will be covered by the Northern Communities Funding Stream Ontario Program grant.
According to a staff report, there is an estimated cost to Georgian Bluffs around $1,184,300 which will be funded through municipal reserves.
The report says that the eastern slope of the road has settled.
According to the report, this is due to slope instability and groundwater infiltration.
The section of road between Grey Road 5 and Grey Road 18 will be pulverized and repaved.
The project has been in development since 2015.
