The time is right to open the Province up a little more to help people get active again.
Premier Doug Ford announced on Friday that gyms and recreation facilities can increase their capacity limits as of Saturday.
These facilities can have up to 50 patrons for each indoor sport or fitness room, while ensuring physical distancing of at least two metres.
These changes will apply to gyms, health clubs, community centres, multi-purpose facilities, arenas, exercise studios, yoga and dance studios and other fitness facilities that are able to follow the new guidance.
“Many of our gyms and fitness centres are run by small business owners and they employ hundreds of people and they are a vital part of our local communities,” says Ford.
Ford says as we get closer to September, getting kids back into amateur sports is vital.
That’s why the Province will provide $8 million to the Ontario and Amateur Sports Fund to ensure safe and quality programming as students head back to class in September.
Many of our gyms and fitness centres are operated by small business owners and they are struggling. To help them get back on their feet we’re making changes so they can safely serve more people at once.
