Police have been stepping up their compliance checks on tow trucks in Caledon.
On Monday (Aug 10) OPP were called to an incident in the Southfields neighbourhood.
Police say a vehicle with stolen license plates was being towed from an accessible parking space.
The tow truck was found to be missing the required safety equipment and the operator was also found to be committing multiple offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
Officers found the truck had missing lighting, an unsecure load, and a sleeping personal passenger in the back of the truck and the driver was charged and removed from the job.
