Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.
Back in April, I went on the 3rd annual Vegas Venture with Puppy White Tours.
A scenario that started a decade ago with some Buffalo Sabres games and a trip to Fallsview Casino has escalated through the years to become an annual junket to Las Vegas, generally in time for the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Understand, I’m not a gambler.
I’m too conservative.
I’m too much of poor loser.
And I’m too much of a penny pincher, some would say cheap, to throw money away gambling.
That’s not to say, I don’t make wagers or bets when I’m in Las Vegas.
This year, I made 29 sports bets; 6 NHL Playoff games, 1 NBA Playoff game and 21 baseball games plus an extended bet where I took Anaheim to win the Stanley Cup at 5-1 odds….thanks NASHVILLE !!
The cost of those 29 wagers was about $ 1,100 of which about half came back to my pocket as I went 15 & 13 over the week.
The point here, and I know I’ve said this before, is that the $ 1,100 placed on single game bets at Las Vegas is $ 1,100 more than Pro-Line will see with their ” triactor ” or ” parlay ” format.
Or put another way, Las Vegas got to hold $ 1,100 more of my money than the Ontario government ever will, until such time as the Province goes Vegas-style with single game wagering.
I’m Fred Wallace
