Last Saturday night the 2017 harness racing season commenced at Hanover Raceway under perfect weather conditions that created a very fast track.
The first winner on the year was ” Sandy’s Candy ” driven by Paul Davies who took the lead on the paddock stretch and came home in a time of 1:59 & 3 to launch the season.
Among the highlights on Opening Night was the Ambassador’s Trot where ” Sass That Mass ” for Jean Bernard Renaud won in 2-02 flat.
The fastest time for the evening was 1-59 flat for Tom Smith who won race 5 with ” Flames Cammi Boy “
And interestingly too, after Bruce Richardson won the 7th race, 7 different drivers had a victory on the night.
Richardson however, wasn’t satisfied with one win, as he went on a 4 race win streak winning the 7th, the 8th, the 9th and the 10th.
Racing resumes Saturday night at Hanover Raceway with Post Time for Ladies Night set for 7:15 pm
