Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
We’ve talked already this week about big events ahead for the weekend in Owen Sound.
The OASA Bantam Tournament runs Saturday and Sunday at Duncan McLellan Park.
Meanwhile, Saturday night at the JD McArthur Arena, the Owen Sound NorthStars will host Brooklin in Game 4 of their Senior Lacrosse Playoff series.
Game 3 is tonight in Brooklin, so tomorrow either the NorthStars or Merchants will face elimination.
Elsewhere, Sauble Speedway has back to back nights of racing during the long holiday weekend.
Plus, the biggest night of the horse racing season for Hanover Raceway is tomorrow night when the $ 77,000 Dream of Glory race is staged.
The horses are interesting, but the drivers in the final are also notable.
Steve Byron has won the Dream 4 times while Ross Battin has won three.
Curtis Clements will race against Battin which will be for stable bragging rights.
Brad Shepherd dominated his elimination last week; Keith Jones won the first ever Dream of Glory; Brad Forward is having a spectacular season at Hanover and while Bruce Richardson has never won the Dream of Glory, his winning percentage suggests he’s due.
Keep in mind, post time for the first race tomorrow at Hanover Raceway is 6:15 pm
I’m Fred Wallace
