Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
It’s been quite a week for hockey, remarkably since it’s mid-June and there won’t be a game for months.
In Owen Sound the Attack gave Head Coach Ryan McGill an extension, they added Allan Letang as an assistant, a bunch of Attack players and prospects were chosen to attend Hockey Canada Selection, Development or Evaluation camps and they released their schedule.
Along with the Ontario Hockey League schedule, the National Hockey League schedule was released plus the NHL handed out their awards, added a team in Las Vegas, prepared for the Draft and made news with a pending broadcast shuffle.
From these activities, a number of questions have arisen;
Will any Attack players be drafted this weekend at Buffalo ?
Probably not. But then again, last year both Michael McNiven and Damir Sharipzyanov weren’t drafted yet got NHL contracts
…..Can an NHL team be successful in Las Vegas ?
I think so.
And as it pertains to the speculated broadcast flip flop for Ron MacLean and George Stroumboulopoulos on Hockey Night in Canada….I told you that was coming two years ago.
I’m Fred Wallace
