Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
An exceptionally heavy weekend of lacrosse is upon us in Owen Sound and area.
Starting tonight and running through Sunday, every level of play for our region will be showcased; Minor, Junior and Senior.
First, the Owen Sound Coldwell Banker Junior NorthStars will host Elora tonight in a Midwest Division matchup
The NorthStars who have not been to the post season since 2010 have had a very competitive season, yet find themselves painted into a corner in which they’re only hope of continuing into the playoffs is to win their final 3 games this week.
Game time tonight for the Junior Stars and Elora is 8 pm at the JD McArthur Arena.
Tomorrow, the first of the annual 3 day Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse Tournament is set to go.
Players from all age groups will compete through the weekend leading to the Championship Games in every division on Sunday at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
Right in the middle of the Minor Lacrosse Tournament, there’s a significant Senior Lacrosse game as the Owen Sound NorthStars host the Brooklin Merchants.
Saturday night at 8 pm, the NorthStars and Brooklin will meet for the second time this month.
Two weeks ago in Owen Sound, Brooklin defeated the NorthStars 8-7 in overtime
So, starting tonight there’s 4 jammed packed days and nights of lacrosse at the Minor, Junior and Senior level.
I’m Fred Wallace
