Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by your local Auto Logic…the Logical Choice.
This is day 3 of the 2016 Canadian Senior Broomball Championship Tournament in Owen Sound.
And the horizon, unfortunately looks bleak for the local entries.
In the Elite Men’s Division yesterday, the Kilsyth Phantoms had a very tough day.
First they were blanked 2-0 by the Sphinx.
Then the Phantoms dropped their second overtime decision of the tournament, losing 3-2 to the previously winless Bruno Axemen
And finally last night, 2 goals against early sunk the Phantoms in a 2-1 loss to the unbeaten Quebec Aces.
At 1 & 4 Kilsyth has one more round robin game remaining, this morning at 11:15 am at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre against the Ottawa Nationals who clinched last night with an exciting 2-0 win over Palmerston.
Meanwhile, in the Coed Division, the host team, the Heads or Tails are on the ice as we speak in a showdown for 4th place with the Coyotes of the Northwest Territories.
Heads or Tails lost a tight 4-3 overtime match to MLF yesterday afternoon at the Rec Centre.
Both the hosts and the Coyotes are 0 & 3, so the winner this hour will advance to play in the Page Playoffs at 4:05 this afternoon at the Bayshore, while the loser will be relegated to the 5th place game early…and I mean EARLY, tomorrow morning.
Big games as we speak, bigger games as we advance through Day 3 of the Canadian Senior Broomball Championships
I’m Fred Wallace
