Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.
It’s nice to be back after the Christmas Break….sort of. I’ve got all year to rectify my fibbing and get off the ” naughty ” list.
The Owen Sound Attack resume play tonight in the Ontario Hockey League when they host the North Bay Battalion.
Owen Sound hit the midway point of the season with 36 points and it will be interesting to see which squad returns from the Christmas Break- the one that won 4 of their last 5, or the one that lost 7 in a row prior to that.
Game time tonight is 7 pm at the JD McArthur Arena.
Also tonight at 8 pm at the Plex in Port Elgin, the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks host the Shallow Lake Crushers in WOAA Senior Hockey.
The Crushers are 4th in the North while the Winterhawks are 5th.
Looking ahead, the Wiarton Curling Club will be a hot spot this weekend with the Region 3 Men’s Tankard playdown.
The winners of the Zone playdowns at Orangeville, Parry Sound, Galt and Paisley will compete for the right to advance to the Ontario Men’s Championship.
The Ontario Tankard is set to commence February 1st at the Brant Curling Club.
Action tonight for the Attack, then later in the week a major event on the 2016 curling calendar at Wiarton
I’m Fred Wallace
