Are you scrambling today ? …….I am.
But such is the joy of Christmas that no matter what we’ve completed, no matter how prepared we are, there’s always that sinking feeling that there’s something more to be done.
Among the unfinished items for me is a professional Christmas ” Thank You ” to the audience and to the local sports community.
Sometime next week, I’ll unveil a new project I worked on in 2015, a project I called, ” The Lead “.
What I did each day was make a quick note of what I felt was my top local story and while I won’t disclose what I think was the biggest story of the year right here-right now, what fascinates me is the territory that’s covered.
Hockey, Fastball, Lacrosse, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Skiing, Cross Country, Nordic, Curling, Swimming, Rugby….you get the point.
The greater point is that I’m not that gifted or ubiquitous to be everywhere and thus, to even do a passable performance, I truly rely on athletes, coaches, managers, parents, relatives, friends and others to dispatch the information and trust me to get it right.
Oh sure, I boot items, mangle facts and sometimes overlook the obvious, but looking at the list of items on ” The Lead ” it’s obvious to me that I’m well supported.
And for that, to those who have assisted this year, every year, Merry Christmas.
