Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.
We were talking about ” streaks ” yesterday; the Golden State Warriors, Patrick Kane, Joe DiMaggio.
So let’s stay on that tract today and use the Owen Sound Attack as our reference point.
The Attack are on a 2 game win streak heading to tonight’s game against Barrie after weekend victories over Sudbury and Peterborough.
In the case of the Sudbury Wolves, Owen Sound has at least a point in 15 straight games, going 11-0-2 & 2.
Owen Sound’s last outright loss to the Wolves was part of the 17 game losing streak in February of 2008 on the famous Marc Franchini dump in play.
More on that some other day.
After beating Sudbury Saturday, the Attack wailed on Peterborough 7-0 the following day.
In the case of the Petes, Owen Sound has been defeated ONCE outright in the last 13 meetings between the teams- 11-1-0 & 1.
The last regulation Peterborough win was October 13th, 2011, keyed by Matt Puempel, Austin Watson and Andrew Yogan which is ironic on 5 different levels.
Which brings us to tonight and the Barrie Colts.
The Colts have won both meetings this season, the last game last season and if you stretch it to include the two pre-season games, that’s 5 straight for Barrie against Owen Sound.
Streaks are strange and the Attack look to end one tonight and extend another tomorrow
I’m Fred Wallace
