Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice. “
I promised myself I’d let this go……….but bit by bit, it just festers to the point where I CAN’T TAKE IT !!
The Owen Sound Attack are in middle of a 2 & 1/2 week homestand in which they play…………………4 times.
Oh sure, at the end of this month the Attack go to Barrie on a Thursday night, then to London the following night, and THEN come home to face London again on the next evening. Brutal !
And in spite of my promise, I decided to check the OHL schedule to see how many times a certain team plays a road game 1 night followed by a home game the next night- that is, how many times does a team have to travel round trip before hitting home ice.
The average for Western Conference teams is 6.3 times
Five clubs; Erie, Guelph, Kitchener, Sarnia and Windsor, do it 6 or 7 times a year.
Guess who has the most sequences of playing on the road one night and then coming home the next ?????
You’re RIGHT !!! The Owen Sound Attack. TWELVE times, by my count.
Wanna guess which team has the fewest scenarios where they are away one night and home the next ?
You’re RIGHT AGAIN !!! The London Knights. The Knights do the road-then-home shuffle……………….TWICE.
I’m Fred Wallace
