Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
Yesterday and today have been loaded with Elementary Cross Country Meets; the Bluewater West Meet yesterday at Saugeen Bluffs in Paisley, the Bluewater East Meet today at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre, Meaford.
We’ll talk more about the cross country meets at a later date.
Today, since we’re scrambling between activities, I wanted to lay out some calls for aid that have been received- two from curling, and another of significance from Minor Lacrosse.
First, the Brokerlink Insurance-Grey Bruce Major Curling League needs 1 more team for the upcoming season.
If your rink is interested or needs more information contact Don Bartley at dbartley@rogers.com.
The desire for the loop is to have a dozen teams compete this year when the season commences on November 11th.
Meanwhile, there are still entries available for Superspiel XXXIV at the Port Elgin Curling Club November 20th-22nd.
Teams will compete for $18,000 in prize money- what better reason to play ?
Interested rinks can contact Rob Lamont at portelginsuperspiel@hotmail.com or link through the Port Elgin Curling Club webpage.
Finally, the Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse Annual General Meeting will be staged on next Tuesday, the 27th, at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
Minor Lacrosse needs to fill the positions of President, First Vice President (rep) and Second Vice President (house league).
Put simply, if the 2nd VP position is not filled, there will not be a house league program in Minor Lacrosse in 2016.
Off to Meaford….
I’m Fred Wallace
