Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
The weekend weather, especially that spectacular storm on Sunday, is the primary talking point of last weekend.
Respectfully, it’s unfortunate that weather pattern overshadowed any number of events in the region, like the 2015 ” Dream of Glory ” at Hanover Raceway to use one example.
Saturday’s signature event at the track was the best night of the season in my view and certainly ranks among the best in the ” Dream of Glory ” era.
” Hemi Seelster ” showed that the track record it set the week before was no fluke and while driver Steve Byron didn’t cruise to the victory in the $ 75,000 plus race, there was never a moment when he didn’t look in control.
Historically, the victories are significant for both Byron and trainer John Bax.
Byron has now been at the helm of 4 ” Dream of Glory ” winners, the most of any driver in the 14 year history of the race.
And Bax now has been the trainer of record for 3 ” Dream of Glory ” Champions, tying him with Frank O’Reilly for the most victories by a trainer.
Saturday’s ” Dream of Glory ” at Hanover Raceway featured great racing from start to finish, a huge crowd and coincidentally, a large betting handle.
It was a great night from every regard and only a wicked storm prevented the ” Dream of Glory ” from being the number 1 topic of discussion in certain circles for Civic Day 2015.
I’m Fred Wallace
