UFC Fight Week in Las Vegas is the ultimate for the serious fight fan and the serious fighter.
As part of the week, the WAKO North American Amateur Kickboxing Championships were staged.
A number of members of the Golden Tigers Club at Hanover competed with Jeff Hastings, Mindy Hall & Shalyn Sulkye all winning a gold in their respective events.
Without question, this was a double thrill for these competitors; 1) winning gold in competition, and 2) doing it during the peak event of the UFC promotion, which is showing no signs of slowing as it approaches its second decade, has to be a thrill
Speaking with Shalyn Sulkye afterwards, she did admit the week was an amazing experience to be a part of, but truthfully there was business at hand to be tended to.
Up next for Sulkye is the World Championships in Ireland this Fall.
The World Kickboxing Championships may not have the same promotional lustre UFC Fight Week does, but don’t tell that to Sulkye who is in training for the event now and hoping to reach peak performance by November.
