Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
The transformation of the Kiwanis Soccer Complex in Owen Sound to a Field Lacrosse venue will take place this week, leading to a significant Provincial Championship Weekend.
The Ontario Women’s Field Lacrosse Championship Tournaments in both the Under 13 and Under 11 divisions will be conducted this weekend at the Kiwanis Facility.
Over the course of any given summer, Owen Sound, like many communities, will host a weekend of events.
But hosting the Provincial Championship Weekend in 2 age brackets represents a significant achievement for the organizers of the Girls game in the city.
It’s a stretch to say Girls Field Lacrosse is an overnight sensation in the city and region, but the evolution has been rapid.
Yes, the miles and the learning process have been lengthy at times, but now the Owen Sound Lady NorthStars have clearly established that as a host centre, they’re more than capable of conducting a first rate tournament weekend.
The Kiwanis Complex will be transformed, the organizing committee will be fully prepared and so the only factors remaining to be seen is how good the weather will be and how competitive the 30 teams at the event will be.
I’m Fred Wallace
