Hi, this is Fred Wallace with Off the Wire….brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
When May arrives, so too does an cavalcade of sporting activities.
The procession of events is heightened by the approaching end of the school term and was exemplified yesterday by the CWOSSA Track Meet in Cambridge and the Bluewater Rugby Championships at Saugeen District followed today by the Bluewater Girls Soccer Championship at Grey Highlands Secondary School in Flesherton and the Boys Soccer Championship in Meaford at Georgian Bay Secondary.
That’s not to say, the high schoolers are the only ones in competition.
Of note in golf, Blue Mountain Golf & Country at Collingwood is conducting one of the final qualifiers for the Men’s MidAmateur Championship.
The top players today will earn a berth at the Investors Group-Ontario Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship next month at
Westmount Golf & Country Club in Kitchener.
And one other golf note, the Provincial Senior Men’s Champion of Champions Tournament is scheduled for today at Beverly Golf & Country Club in Copetown
And finally, looking ahead, it’s a busy weekend of lacrosse with the Owen Sound Senior NorthStars hosting Ennismore Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore while the Junior B Garb & Gear-Coldwell Banker NorthStars are at St Catharines Sunday night and in Orangeville on Monday.
I’m Fred Wallace
