Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic…..the Logical Choice !
A fabulous weekend is in front of us with Spring on the horizon tomorrow, and all kinds of sporting activities scheduled, most of them representing the climax of their respective sports.
The most significant event is the 2015 Ontario Broomball Championship Tournament that’s being conducted in Owen Sound.
A lengthy planning period comes to fruition tomorrow morning at 7 am when play commences at both the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre and at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
Overall, almost 50 teams, 80 percent from out-of-region, will be competing in a variety of divisions.
The schedules for all of the teams & divisions are posted at www.broomball.ca and at www.ontariobroomball.ca
Furthermore, at the site, programs will be issued with complete schedules enclosed so following a specific team or division should be simplistic.
The organizing committee believes everything is in place, but in a scenario like this one, one where there’s no history, no dress rehearsal, who knows what might pop up.
That aside, the Provincial Championships will weave their way through the entire weekend in Owen Sound and climax with a series of Championship games on Sunday at the Bayshore.
The hope certainly is that the local entries go a long way, if not all the way, but regardless who ends up on top of which division, there’s little doubt the city of Owen Sound and the sport of broomball are in position to be the biggest winners
I’m Fred Wallace
