Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic…..the Logical Choice !
The Ontario Hockey League Playoffs commence tonight….actually they don’t, but for the Owen Sound Attack & the Guelph Storm, the game tonight may as well be the launch of the playoffs.
With no offence to Kitchener, Sarnia or the Storm, I don’t see Guelph or the Attack getting any higher than 4th, nor dipping any lower than 5th.
It COULD happen, but on this day it seems unlikely.
The Storm have 72 points & 7 games to play; tonight, then at Sarnia, at Windsor, at Kitchener, then home to Kitchener, Owen Sound and finally Sarnia.
Only 1 of their 7 remaining games is against a team with a better record than they have.
The Attack are 3 points back of Guelph with 9 to play; tonight at Guelph, home to Saginaw & Sault on the weekend, off to Barrie & London, home to the Knights, home again to Plymouth, back to Guelph and then home to conclude the regular season against Sarnia.
Owen Sound has a tougher roster of opponents down the stretch than Guelph, but if Owen Sound can play .500, I don’t see any way that the Attack & Guelph won’t meet in the playoffs
Have a great weekend
I’m Fred Wallace
