Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Auto Logic…..the Logical Choice !
The Chase for a playoff spot in hockey is both exciting and agonizing.
Whether you’re gunning for top spot or making a concerted effort to simply qualify for the post season, there’s both a physical & mental toll exacted.
In the case of the Knights of Meaford, they’re trying to obtain home ice advantage for a sudden death playoff game against Bracebridge in the Greater Metro Junior League on Family Day.
As of this moment, Bracebridge has the right to host the elimination game as the Blues have 1 more point than Meaford.
Momentum is with Meaford, time is with Bracebridge.
The Knights who won just 2 games in the first two months of the season, have played .500 hockey in their last 14 games which included a narrow 6-5 win over Bracebridge Sunday afternoon.
But the Knights have just 2 games remaining; tonight at 7:30 home against the Toronto Predators & tomorrow at Markdale against the Bravehearts to conclude the regular season.
Bracebridge not only has the 1 point advantage, they have 3 games remaining.
However, the Blues have lost 15 of their last 16 games.
Regardless of the extended losing streaks for both teams at different points of the season, the derby for home ice for the sudden playoff game on Family Day has to be exciting and agonizing for both Bracebridge & the Knights of Meaford
I’m Fred Wallace
