It’s Ground Hog DAAAYYYYY……………………….
What a great movie !!!!
Last week, I ran out of time before mentioning two very significant winter events that feature a number of athletes from our region competing at the pinnacle of their sports.
In Vail, Colorado, Larisa Yurkiw is at the World Alpine Ski Championship where she’ll ski every day this week in both the Downhill & the Super G.
I caught up to her as she passed through Canada last week and while she was still very excited about a podium finish in Italy last month, she fully understands today is another day in the building process.
Meanwhile, near London, the Ontario Men’s Tankard begins today with two draws.
From Zone 11, the Cory Heggestad rink with Simon Barrick and the Tippin Brothers from Owen Sound enter as Region 3 ” A ” Side winners.
Plus, Codey Maus is the lead for the St George’s Golf & Country Club that features provincial legends in the sport; Wayne Middaugh & Peter Corner.
Five days of skiing, 7 days of curling. If the early results for Larisa Yurkiw, the Cory Heggestad rink & Codey Maus are good, let’s hope Ground Hog Day continually repeats itself.
