I was tipped off last week by Mike Murphy at St Mary’s High School in Owen Sound that one of his student athletes, Tory Harshman, had accepted a full ride scholarship to play hockey at Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
That led to a fascinating conversation the following day with Harshman who is in the process of concluding her high school studies at St Mary’s before she departs from NCAA Division 1 Women’s Hockey and academic studies in Sports Psychology.
Equally fascinating was Tory Harshman’s response to a very basic question on my part; ..” where have you played hockey to this point ? ‘ ……………………………………………
That’s amazing.
By my count that’s 6 organizations in under a decade.
Tory Harshman must be a terrific player if an NCAA Division 1 school has you on their radar.
Based on our conversation, I’m certain she’ll do well in her studies in Sports Psychology.
But I’d assume if there was a course in Ontario Geography, she’d ace that with little difficulty.
