It’s Municipal Election Day and I hope everyone takes the time to invest in their community today by casting their vote.
No question these are interesting times for a variety of places in our broadcast region.
These are also somewhat trying times for several groups and organizations in the local sports world.
Among those groups is the Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse Association.
The Annual General Meeting for Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse is tomorrow night at 7 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community centre.
The need exists for more than a half dozen new Executive members for Minor Lacrosse in order for the association to remain both vibrant and diversified.
For example, among the primary needs is a President for the House League program, otherwise, a long standing segment of Minor Lacrosse may disappear.
The House League program coincides with the end of the school year and it’s a great physical activity for youngsters of all ahes.
It would be sad to think a House League program for kids would vanish because adults lack the time or interest these days to oversee it.
The sport has a lengthy and rich history in the city & region, to a large extent thanks to the early experience gained by players in Minor Lacrosse.
So I hope you’ll vote today and give Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse some time & assistance tomorrow night.
I’m Fred Wallace
