The 51st annual Bob Atkinson Memorial-Bluewater West Elementary Cross Country meet was staged yesterday at Saugeen Bluffs near Paisley.
Amazingly, not one drop of rain fell after 9:30 am, which was 90 minutes before the start of the Tyke Girls race.
Equally amazing, not one child was lost in the mud that caked and plastered every participant through the day.
When it was done, Huron Heights of Kincardine won the 2015 title with 52 points which included three divisional titles.
Individually, Hester Page of Huron Heights was the Senior Girls Champion while Luc Nusselder, who earlier had won the 4th annual Coyotes race at Meaford, won again, this time representing Port Elgin Saugeen Central
All of the individual champions and top 3 school standings for each division are posted at www.bayshorebroadcasting.ca
If anything, the activity gets more hectic today at Meaford.
First, the Bluewater East Elementary Cross Country Meet is being staged at Land Forces Central Area Training Centre and then later, the Knights of Meaford seek their first win of the hockey season when they host the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks tonight in the ā Castle of Pain. ā
