Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
I’ll admit it- I’ve over stated, over-sold, flat out hyped, maybe even fibbed, about the magnitude of games, performances, business offers and more during the course of my career.
I think it’s expected of me & from me to a certain extent, but the listener or the consumer has, or should have, a built-in sense that there’s no such thing as a sure-thing nor a guarantee.
However, one of the few exceptions to that thesis will take place tomorrow in Meaford when the Coyotes host their 4th annual Cross Country Meet at Georgian Bay Secondary School.
The guarantee is centered on a young athlete named Morgan Elliot.
Last year as a Grade 7 student at Dundalk Proton-Highpoint, Elliot was the story of the meet, competing in the Grade 7 & 8 Boys 3 kilometre race.
The subtle difference between Morgan and the remainder of the field is that he competes in a wheelchair.
And while the other boys dash off into the woodlands, Morgan circles the track at GBSS 7 times before heading up the chute to the finish.
Tomorrow, Morgan Elliot is scheduled to compete again.
Having seen him perform once, I’m inviting you to come see him race.
Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
And here’s the sure-fire statement for those on hand for the race; I guarantee you will be inspired, motivated and your perspective on many things will be altered in the time it takes Morgan Elliot to complete 3 kilometres at Georgian Bay Secondary.
See you tomorrow.
I’m Fred Wallace
