And just like that, the competitive activities in the Bluewater Athletics Association are underway.
The proceedings were launched yesterday in the South with Girls Basketball games at Chesley and both Walkerton High Schools.
Today, the Bluewater North Girls Basketball season opens with a bang as the OSCVI Lady Falcons go across the city to face the West Hill Raiders
Elsewhere, St. Mary’s travels to Wiarton to go against the Peninsula Shores Phoenix and in Flesherton, the Grey Highlands Lions host the Georgian Bay Lady Vikings
Of course tomorrow, the Bluewater Football season kicks off at 3 pm at West Hill when the Raiders host the St Mary’s Mustangs in another all-Owen Sound matchup.
There will be 5 schools with programs this year; all 3 Owen Sound schools, the Saugeen District Royals & a Junior program at John Diefenbaker in Hanover
Among the early highlights will be the annual ” Friday Night Lights ” game at West Hill on Thanksgiving Friday
The annual OSCVI-West Hill matchup will be conducted under the lights at West Hill October 10th
And looking further ahead, the playoffs will be staged on Halloween followed the Bluewater Championship one week later.
