Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by Hal Wright Chevrolet-Cadillac-GMC-Buick on the Sunset Strip in Owen Sound.
In somewhat of an irony, Victor Mete was reluctant to come to Owen Sound yet, the road Mete took out of the region will be more travelled in the days ahead by players who, I’d imagine, really don’t want to go down that route.
When last seen, the Attack roster was sitting at 28 players, which is 5, maybe 6, players more than what they’ll run with.
In fact, in a lot of years Owen Sound has a pair of scratches per night with a roster of 22.
Complicating the roster issue, is the belief that Owen Sound is looking to upgrade at forward, sooner rather than later.
At lest one of the second round draft picks acquired in the Mete schmozzle will never see the light of day in Owen Sound, expected to be dispatched as part of the payment for that forward.
It’s possible a package of Attack rostered players could be in that transaction which would lower the numbers in Owen Sound, but at the moment, there’s too many goalies, too many defenders and too many forwards.
Victor Mete, and his entourage, wanted out of Owen Sound and the reality is he’ll soon have company on that road.
I’m Fred Wallace
