The Owen Sound Attack can do what they want, and will do what they want, as it pertains to reluctant first round selection Victor Mete.
Mete’s agent Darren Ferris maintained this week that Mete will not attend the Attack Rookie Camp which opens Monday & has no intention of coming to Owen Sound
All of which leaves the Attack with a series of options.
And while Attack General Manager Dale DeGray seldom seeks my perspective, opinion or advice, I’d like to submit the following suggestion……………….do NOT trade Victor Mete to London.
First, the Owen Sound brass suspects Mete, who reportedly went to the OHL Office on draft day to be interviewed once selected, had a path to London already worked out.
Two, has anyone noticed the Attack haven’t won a season series with the Knights since………………………. 2001.
Furthermore, over the last 3 regular seasons Owen Sound is 1 & 17 head to head with the Knights.
1 & 17 !!!
A big factor in London’s head to head success would be Max Domi ( thanks, Kingston )
Other big factors for the Knights in that span would be Olli Maatta ( thanks, Barrie ) and Nikita Zadorov ( thanks, Peterborough ).
So, as it pertains to the reluctant Victor Mete, I’d hate to see the Owen Sound Attack lining up to join the lengthy parade of OHL teams presenting a never-ending sequence of gifts to the London Knights.
