It’s a weekend in early June which means a lot of activity in a lot of places.
Today, we’ll focus on two events.
For months, here, there & everywhere, I’ve been asked about the return of Hanover Raceway.
I’m thankful to say the local harness racing season officially opens tomorrow night at Hanover with post time for the first race of 2014 set for 7:15 pm.
Sure it’s not the schedule or scenario that anyone wants, but we’ll avoid politics for the moment and simply state, we’re excited to be back at Hanover Raceway.
The other major topic today is the 2nd annual Scenic City Soccer Day at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex in Owen Sound tomorrow.
All of the Owen Sound rep teams will be playing plus there will be a number of House League jamborees taking place as well
The final game tomorrow features the two Owen Sound entries in the Huronia & District Soccer League; the Strikers & Grey Motors United in a head to head at 5 pm.
One other note, the Ford ” Drive one 4 UR Community ” fundraiser also taking place for the 4th straight year.
Ford will donate $20 for every vehicle test drive directly back to Owen Sound Minor Soccer.
The hope for Minor Soccer is to conduct 250 test drives and generate $ 5,000.
