Take your pick; World Championships in Belarus, the NHL Western Conference Semifinal & the Mastercard Memorial Cup Tournament.
Canada meets Italy this afternoon at the World Championship. After whipping Denmark 6-1 yesterday, Canada looks for a 4 game win streak today.
In Anaheim tonight, the Ducks and L.A. Kings play Game 7 of their series with the winner advancing to meet Chicago in the West Final.
Not to say Chicago’s trip has been easy but how about their future opponent.
If it’s the Kings, they will have endured two 3 game losing streaks and survived two Game 7’s.
If it’s the Ducks, they may as well have gone 7 in the first two rounds.
Of course, the Eastern Conference Final opens tomorrow afternoon in Montreal with the Canadiens hosting the Rangers.
Plus, the Memorial Cup Tournament begins tonight in London.
I don’t believe this is the best format for determining your champion, but still, the concept of 2 OHL teams and 2 outsiders settling in for a 4 team, 9 day playdown, does have its appeal.
