It’s been a remarkably quiet week for the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League.
Generally, there’s no shortage of games early in the week, but with the Showcase going earlier this week, there were no league games on the agenda.
No matter, the schedule picks up tonight at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre, a.k.a. ” The Castle of Pain “, when the Knights of Meaford, a.k.a., ” The Collingwood Street Crusaders ” host the Toronto Predators…..stop me before I ‘ a.k.a. ” again !!
For the Knights, this is their final home game of the pre-Christmas segment of the schedule.
It’s also the latest in a series of opportunities for the Knights to capitalize while at home.
Meaford is 5 & 8 on home ice this year, but my count, they’re 0 & 3 in the BIG games at home; losing pivotal games to Alliston, Halton & Bracebridge, games that quite simply would equate to the difference between trying to grab 12th place tonight , or being in a top 10 position in this their expansion season.
One other note as it pertains to the Knights of Meaford; tonight marks the conclusion of their ” Take The Bite Out Of Hunger ” campaign and fans are requested to bring a canned food item to the game which is a 7:30 pm start.
