Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “, brought to you by 49th Marketing.com

In a weekend that took in stops at Mohawk Racetrack, the University of Guelph, Hanover Raceway, Sauble Golf & Country and back to Hanover in the P & H Centre, there was a lot to digest.
Among the items I didn’t see but was very interested in, the Bluewater Fastball League concluded with their year-end Championship Tournament.
In the championship final on Sunday, the Mildmay Mets took the title dropping the Elmwood Bierman’s Bar & Grill Smoke 7-2.
If the tournament were staged again today, or if this tournament was staged in early August, you might get a different result- which I think is a solid testimonial for the league.
Another one I missed, but was intrigued by, was the hockey opener for the Knights of Meaford. Described as not being a textbook display of hockey, the Knights grabbed a lead, fell behind then rallied to beat the Halton Ravens 9-8 Sunday in Burlington in their first ever Metro Junior A game.
And finally, I was highly impressed with the P & H Centre facility at Hanover on Sunday as the Hanover Minor Hockey Association staged an OHL exhibition game between the Attack & Erie.
Erie won and the Attack have some impressions to make on their young players, but as fundraisers and community events go, that was a solid operation in Hanover
Have a great week.
I’m Fred Wallace
