Brendan Steele had the lead after 1 round with Brad Fritsch the low Canadian entry.
It’ll be interesting to see who does what over the course of Day 2 today.
In other golf notes, Michael Jackson of the Georgian Bay Club at Craigleith won the Ontario Senior Men’s Amateur Golf Championship in London.
Jackson beat Larry Cooper of Mississauga in a 3 hole playoff to win the event for a 2nd time.
Meanwhile, Kincardine golfer Taylor Schmidt goes to the final round of the Royale Cup-the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship tied for 26th
The Kincardine Golf & Country member has shot rounds of 75, 73 & 75 in the third round yesterday.
Aside from golf as we hit the weekend, the annual Tom Sims Memorial Fastball Tournament begins tonight at Meaford and runs through the weekend.
Plus tomorrow night, Hanover Raceway has the ” Dream of Glory ” elimination races. Twenty horses will try and squeeze into the 8 spots available for the $ 70,000 final set for August 3rd at Hanover.
