It’s been quite a run for drafts.
The NHL Entry Draft was Sunday in New Jersey.
Three members of the Owen Sound Attack were selected; Chris Bigras to Colorado, Zach Nastasiuk to Detroit and Minnesota took Kurtis Gabriel.
Plus, an Attack prospect Sean Malone was taken by Buffalo and if the Attack can persuade Buffalo that they can do similar prep job for Malone as they did for Daniel Catenacci……
Meanwhile, there’s another draft today, the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
The Attack made room for their selection yesterday by dealing Artur Gavrus to Oshawa
And in between is a much less publicized draft for players on Ontario fastball teams who did not qualify for the Canadian Junior Championships.
The Wiarton Red Devils, Napanee Express, Stratford Cubs and host Keady Jets are adding players to their lineup through the process.
Wiarton has confirmed their first pick is Selects pitcher Michael Legace-Roote.
The Jets confirmed their first pick was Selects outfielder Cody Skelton.
Two other Selects; Greg Hammell & Adam Stuck are apparently bound for the Napanee & Stratford entries.
Like Artur Gavrus, and the CHL Import Draft, we’ll see who shows up where on August 5th when the Jets host the National Junior Championship
