The official transactions for the Owen Sound Attack as they renovate their roster for next season begin tomorrow.
In truth, the preliminary groundwork, proposals and alignments are well underway, even if the Attack have been seemingly quiet for the last month.
Tomorrow, Owen Sound will pick 50th in the annual CHL Import Draft.
At one point, there were ripples that suggested Owen Sound may take a netminder, but the betting at this hour is that it’s more likely to be a defenceman, most likely to be a defenceman taken by an NHL Club over the weekend at the Entry Draft
The fact Owen Sound is utilizing a pick means another transaction is on the horizon.
Owen Sound already has, alphabetically, Gilbert Gabor and Arthur Gavrus on the roster, so pick # 50 tomorrow will mean Owen Sound has one import too many.
New legislation that forbids trading Import picks and simple math dictates Owen Sound will have to cut ties with either Gabor or Gavrus, and thus, after a silent segment, the Attack will be in position to officially commence building their squad for the 2013-14 OHL season.
