The 2013 Stanley Cup resumes tonight in Boston with the Bruins looking to extend their lead and the Chicago Blackhawks aiming to square the affair
Boston leads the series 2 games to 1 going to Game 4 tonight, riding a suddenly hot Daniel Paille to take the lead.
With game winners in overtime in Game 2 and then in the 2nd period of Game 3, Paille is approaching Carlton Fisk like status for the sports fans of Beantown.
Paille was an Ontario Hockey League first rounder in 2000, taken by the Guelph Storm out of Welland, sixth overall.
The Owen Sound Attack, in their first draft as the Attack, had the # 3 selection that year and chose………Richard Power.
It goes without saying that Paille had a better junior career than Power, two trips to the World Junior Championship, once as captain, plus an OHL title in 2004 were some of Paille’s accomplishments.
Of course, Owen Sound nearly skewered the Guelph championship in 2004, taking the Storm to a 7th and deciding game at the Sleeman Centre in the opening round of the playoffs
But it was not to be; Daniel Paille scored twice in Game 7 for the Storm, the clincher with 68 seconds play to once again put a dagger into the Attack.
Nearly a decade later, Daniel Paille shoots for a third straight game winner as the Bruins host the Hawks in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup
