The annual Harry Kazarian Memorial Minor Lacrosse Tournament presented by the Kazarian Family and Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse begins Friday and runs through the weekend.
Again this year there are 6 divisions; Tyke through Intermediate, all playing for the right to advance to the divisional championship games on Sunday at the JD McArthur Arena.
Five venues will be utilized over the course of the weekend, both facilities in Owen Sound plus the Shallow Lake & District Community Arena, the Plex in Port Elgin and the Meaford-St Vincent Community Centre.
As in recent years, some of those arenas will be almost exclusively for one division; the Novices play at Meaford, the Bantams at the Plex and Peewees see a large number of games at Shallow Lake.
Championship Sunday begins at 9 am with the Tyke Final, followed by each advancing age category through the Intermediate Final at 2:45 pm.
It’s a busy weekend, no question, but based on its lengthy existence, the Harry Kazarian Memorial Minor Lacrosse Tournament is a successful venture for Minor Lacrosse, the city and the region.
