It’s Groundhog Festival Weekend @ Wiarton.
And it’s Snowboardcross Weekend at Blue Mountain.
Into the weekend, here’s some random thoughts about a bunch of stuff
Super Bowl Week, give or take Ray Lewis, has been uneventful, almost boring. So boring that It struck me this week that drugs in sports dominate every major event, certainly the ones that get the most media attention.
I’ll take San Francisco, simply because they never lose a Super Bowl and the Colin Kaepernick story is somewhat similar to Tom Brady’s,isn’t it ?
Social Media. What a silly turn of events that cost Joe Monette his job in the short term and who knows what it will cost in the long term. I believe Monette when he says he was joking with a friend, but in this day and age, Twitter isn’t always your friend…..
The London Knights had an incident in a hotel at Kingston last week. I don’t for a second excuse the Knights behaviour, but honestly, I think it’s less about the Knights and more about the age group. Everybody is more than willing to jump on London but you don’t have to think too long to come up with similar examples, isolated, but similar in almost every other OHL community.
Speaking of London, they’re here tomorrow for Pink in The Rink Night.
There’s Junior & Senior Hockey playoff action all weekend and when the weekend is done, the Ontario Men’s Curling Championship starts at Barrie
