I know we’re in the heart of the football season, with 3 US Thanksgiving Day games yesterday and the Canadian Championship for the Grey Cup coming up on Sunday, but I did want to talk about local hockey
There’s a terrific vibe in the city and region with the Attack leading the Ontario Hockey League Western Conference at the moment heading to a showdown tomorrow night at the JD McArthur Arena against the London Knights
By puck drop tomorrow night, either the Attack or the Knights will be first in the West and while no one wins a championship in November, there’s no denying this is a big, big game.
With the Attack having the night off, the hockey fan in this region has an exceptional number of choices tonight in Junior C and Senior hockey
In the Western Junior C league, there are 3 games tonight; Wingham at Hanover, Mount Forest at Kincardine & Mitchell at Walkerton.
The best of the bunch is likely the all Hawks game in Walkerton where the first place Hawks host the third place Hawks from Mitchell
Meanwhile in the WOAA Senior Hockey League tonight, there are games at Shallow Lake, Port Elgin and Durham.
In Shallow Lake, the Crushers host Ripley
At the Plex in Port Elgin, the Winterhawks host Shelburne
& in Durham, the Thundercats are in against Elora
Between OHL games Wednesday and Saturday, hockey fans have plenty of choice tonight.
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
