Do or die. Must win. The rubber hits the road. Be brave or stay in a cave.
There’s a lot of sporting cliches that apply to the Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars tonight.
The NorthStars host the Orangeville Northmen in Junior B Lacrosse at the JD McArthur Arena
Actually, while the game is more important to the NorthStars, that’s not to say it doesn’t hold a great deal of meaning for the Northmen.
Suddenly, in a strange twist based on years of excellence, Orangeville finds itself almost clinging to a playoff spot, tied for 7th in the Western Conference with Niagara and Wallaceburg.
Owen Sound sits 4 points back of that threesome which brings us to tonight’s game.
An Owen Sound victory would allow them to claw their way to within 2 points of a playoff spot with just 5 games to play.
However a loss tonight, would leave Owen Sound 6 back of Orangeville for 7th with 5 to play and while the math says it’s not an impossibility, the reality is very apparent.
So it’s sink or swim, fish or cut bait and go hard or go home for the NorthStars tonight when they host Orangeville at 8 at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore.
I’m Fred Wallace
