Quite a range of hockey topics have popped up this week.
Yesterday on ” Midweek With Murdoch “, the special guest was former NHL’er Paul Masnick.
Masnick, a native of Regina who now resides in Barrie, played more than 200 NHL games in the 1950’s, primarily with the Montreal Canadiens which meant he shared the ice and times with ” Rocket ” Richard, Jean Beliveau, Doug Harvey and other legends of the game.
Fascinating.
Today, I’m scheduled to speak with Barbara Ross, wife of the late Gord Henry who was inducted into the Hershey Bears Hall of Fame over the weekend.
Remember the sequence in ” Field of Dreams ” when Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones go looking for Archibald ” Moonlight ” Graham.
Gord Henry is a ” Moonlight Graham ” character, a netminder who should have vastly more prominence in local sporting lore.
Barbara is a little nervous about the interview, but there’s a terrific story to be told here.
And then tonight for good measure, we’ll watch the Knights of Meaford try and catch the Bracebridge Phantoms in the Greater Metro Junior A standings
Game time tonight is 7:30 at the Castle of Pain.
I’m Fred Wallace
