For a Wednesday in March, this is a pretty big sports day in these parts.
Over in Kincardine, the CWOSSA ” A-AA ” Hockey Champions will be determined at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Girls Final at noon pits the Kincardine District Lady Knights against Our Lady of Lourdes from Guelph
The Boys Final will follow as Kincardine faces the Sacred Heart Crusaders of Walkerton in an all Bluewater Final
The Girls & Boys Tournament Champions today at Kincardine will advance to their respective OFSAA Championships; the Girls Championship at Belleville and the Boys Championship in Peterborough.
As we told you yesterday, the Attack host Barrie tonight at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
A win by Owen Sound tonight would accomplish the following;
It would allow them to clinch their playoff berth in the West.
It would allow them to jump 2 points up on Sarnia for 4th place.
And it would allow them to reduce their magic number to clinch a top 5 finish in the West down to 3.
But that’s only if they win.
Game time is 7 pm
And, in between CWOSSA & the OHL, there’s curling in Ganonque at the Ontario Best Western Intermediate Championships.
The Al Hutchinson rink of Owen Sound Blue Water plays twice today in the Men’s Division.
Meanwhile, the Beth Gregg rink from Walkerton Golf & Curling will play their lone match of the day this afternoon.
Round robin play for both Hutchinson and Gregg runs through Saturday.
