The rubber hits the road in a variety of scenarios for the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League.
Literally, the Kunkel Attack Bus will be in Plymouth, Michigan tonight, in Windsor Saturday night and then at Saginaw to wrap up the weekend on Sunday afternoon.
From another standpoint, Owen Sound’s destination in the Western Conference standings won’t be finalized this weekend, but a sweep, one way or the other, could be the determining factor.
Owen Sound comes into the weekend with 59 points riding a 4 game win streak and understandably somewhat giddy from that 12 goal explosion last Saturday against Peterborough in the ” Pink in the Rink ” game.
I doubt, and I’m sure the Attack are realistic enough to know, they won’t score 12 goals in a game again this year.
But can they score 12 goals this weekend ?
And if they do count 12 markers in 3 games, I think their chances of garnering valuable points in the Western Conference are pretty good.
Owen Sound cannot finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Yes, it’s mathematically possible, but it’s not going to happen.
The Attack could finish 4th…..Or 5th…..Or 6th…..7th or 8th could happen too this season, but the point is a great weekend or a horrid weekend this weekend could be a major factor in the ultimate finish.
