The knock on the door is that of opportunity for the Owen Sound Attack.
It’s funny, through the course of the Trade Deadline and borderline fiascos with Oshawa and London, it seems like the Attack have been playing all week.
On the other hand, it seems like a long time ago that Jay Gilbert slammed the game winner in overtime past Keegan Wilson of the Brampton Battalion in Owen Sound’s last outing.
Which brings us to tonight. And tomorrow.
The Attack, who are 5th in the Western Conference, just 2 points back of Sarnia for 4th, get the Erie Otters at home tonight and again tomorrow night.
The Otters are enduring their worst season ever. But those are their problems.
If the Attack can capitalize on the Otters this weekend, the opportunity is there to put greater pressure on a battered Sarnia squad and leave a number of other Western foes well back.
Through trades or the existing environment, the arrows for Windsor, Sault and Saginaw all seem to be pointing to next year, not this Spring.
Based on the form charts, Owen Sound is expected to win against Erie, but as a warning, keep in mind that one of the Otters 5 wins on the season was at the expense of the Attack and those 2 points, lost on Thanksgiving Weekend in Pennsylvania are very significant as we hit the dash for home ice advantage come playoff time.
Game time tonight and tomorrow night is 7:30
I’m Fred Wallace
